I’m Lara. Welcome to Homezillo — The Home Decor Inspiration I Always Wanted.
Creating a home you love shouldn’t take a designer’s budget or a house full of expensive furniture.
For a lot of us, the hard part isn’t finding beautiful ideas. There are thousands of them online. The hard part is figuring out which ideas actually work in a real home, what is worth trying, and how to make a space feel better without overspending.
That’s really the idea behind Homezillo.
I created this site to share practical home decor inspiration, simple DIY projects, seasonal decorating ideas, and realistic ways to make your home feel more comfortable and personal.
Why This Site Exists
I started Homezillo because I kept noticing the same thing: so many home decor ideas look beautiful online, but they don’t always feel realistic for everyday homes.
Not everyone wants to completely redesign a room every season. Not everyone has a huge budget, a massive house, or a storage room full of decorating supplies.
Sometimes you just want to make one room feel a little better.
Maybe it’s changing a small corner, giving something old a new purpose, adding seasonal touches, or finding a simple DIY project for the weekend.
That’s what Homezillo is built around.
Less pressure. More practical ideas. A home that actually feels like yours.
What I Believe About Home Decor
- Simple can be beautiful. You don’t need a room filled with expensive pieces to make it feel special.
- Every budget deserves good ideas. Decorating inspiration should work whether you’re spending $20 or $200.
- Your home should feel personal. Trends can inspire you, but your space doesn’t have to look exactly like everyone else’s.
- DIY should be approachable. A project doesn’t need to involve complicated tools or dozens of supplies to be worth making.
- Useful beats perfect. A beautiful room still needs to work for the people who live in it.
What You’ll Find Here
Homezillo is where I share ideas for making everyday spaces feel a little more inviting, organized, and personal.
You’ll find:
- Home decor ideas: practical inspiration for refreshing different areas of your home.
- DIY projects: creative projects you can actually try without making things unnecessarily complicated.
- Budget-friendly decorating: ideas for giving your space a fresh look without a huge shopping list.
- Seasonal decor: simple ways to bring the feeling of each season into your home.
- Room inspiration: ideas for bedrooms, bathrooms, living spaces, laundry rooms, and other areas.
- Small-space solutions: decorating ideas for apartments, compact rooms, and homes where every inch matters.
- Practical home tips: useful ideas that look good but also make sense for everyday life.
I don’t chase every decorating trend that comes along.
I’m more interested in ideas that can still make sense after the trend has passed — things you can actually use, make, adapt, or enjoy in your own home.
Who This Is For
Homezillo is for the person who wants a beautiful home but doesn’t want decorating to become an expensive or overwhelming project.
It’s for the DIY lover looking for their next weekend project.
It’s for someone moving into a new home and figuring out where to start.
It’s for the renter who wants to make their space feel more personal.
It’s for the homeowner who wants to refresh a room without completely starting over.
And it’s for anyone who has ever looked at a home decor idea and thought:
“I love that. I wonder if I could actually do something like this in my home.”
If that’s you, you’re exactly where you should be.
A Bit About Me
I’m Lara Smith, the person behind Homezillo.
I pay attention to the little things that can make a home feel different — the colors, textures, arrangement, lighting, seasonal details, and those small changes that somehow make a room feel more welcoming.
I enjoy discovering decorating ideas that are beautiful but still practical enough for everyday life.
I’m also a big believer in giving things another chance before replacing them. Sometimes an old piece simply needs a different place, a little creativity, or a small DIY update.
That’s the kind of thinking I bring to Homezillo.
I’m not here to tell you that your home needs to look a certain way.
I’m here to help you figure out what works for you.
How I Keep This Useful
Every idea shared on Homezillo should have a reason for being here.
When putting together a DIY project, I think about the materials, steps, time, and whether the project is actually realistic to try at home.
When sharing decorating ideas, I focus on how they can work in real spaces rather than treating every room like a showroom.
And when I cover seasonal ideas or decorating trends, I try to keep the focus on things you can actually use and adapt to your own space.
The goal is simple:
You should leave an article with an idea you can actually do something with.
Not just another pretty picture saved to a folder you’ll never open again.
One Last Thing
If you’ve made it this far, you probably care about how your home feels — and I appreciate that.
There’s no secret formula you missed when it comes to decorating.
Your home doesn’t have to follow one particular style.
It doesn’t need to be perfectly coordinated.
And you definitely don’t need to buy something new every time you want a change.
Sometimes the best home improvements come from working with what you already have, trying something different, and adding a little bit of your own personality.
That’s what Homezillo is here to help you do.
Find an idea. Make it yours. Enjoy your space.
I’m glad you found us.
